Re: HP Laptop Screen Replacement

Thanks, George

Your third link eventually led me to a manual that will help. Took a while, because even though it says 17-series, and when you click on it, the text you see would lead you to believe you were looking at 17-series [more]

HP Laptop Screen Replacement

Hi All,

I have a fairly new HP 17-by1036nr laptop that took a very minor bump to the top surface while sitting on the floor, breaking the screen. Argh!

I have done a screen replacement about 10 years ago, but relied heavily on [more]

Re: 14TB ext HDD--$190 at Best Buy

I don't think I could fill 14TB in the rest of my lifetime, and in a quarter of that time it would be obsolete! 8-)

I worked on early automotive electronic engine control computers. I distinctly remember "lively" [more]

In another lifetime, I won "Post of the Day" for describing the clock changing ritual. A lot has changed since 2003.

After sitting through the whole trial for 4 or 5 days, myself and 1 other juror from the 14 initially chosen were randomly selected to go home when deliberation started. The verdict of the remaining 12 was [more]

Re: Air Purifier motor question

foo1bar,

To take it to an extreme - seal it up completely and it does almost no work because it just gets the air inside the cage spinning and now the only work it's doing is against friction losses.

Wow, this is so [more]

Air Purifier motor question

I know there are some appliance wizards here, and I have a very counter-intuitive situation with the power consumption of a newly acquired air purifier that I'm hoping those wizards can explain.

I have Duck-Duck-Go'd my question, [more]

HWTSAP (Air Purifier)

OK, an air purifier isn't a computer.

I have Duck-Duck-Go'd my question, and looked for a more appropriate board on Fooldom, but in the end I'm hoping there are a few electrical engineers here who can shed light on an [more]
