Re: Removing a large mirror

4'x2.5' doesn't seem to be a large mirror. The mirror in my bathroom is about 8'x4'.

Re: What does your car know about you?

Modern cars know every contact on the driver's phone.

Maybe it's a good thing I don't drive a modern car.

Re: Portable Car Battery Jumper

If not used or discharged in any way, how often does it have to be "topped up", ie; how long does a full charge last?

There was a Youtube video where one sat for a few years and still could jump a car. It's a lithium [more]

Evolution of Godzilla? He kind of reminds me of a WWE wrestler - bad guy, then good guy, back to bad guy and then good again.

Re: And now for something completely different

Same with new water heaters

That's a function of the anode inside the water heater. The difference between a 6 year and 12 year warranty heater is the size of the anode. If you want to extend the life of a water heater, you should [more]

Re: First CSA of 2019

A CSA would not be a good fit for me. I would not use half of the items that you got in your first box. Fortunately, I have a farmer's market nearby where I can choose the items that I want.

Re: U.S. greenhouse gas emissions

For comparison, US carbon dioxide emissions in 2015 were 12% lower than in 2007.

NC gas reduced its GHG emissions by 25% since 2005 and has set a goal of a 40% reduction by 2025.

What about wood chips (or biofuels). Can they grow enough trees? They might be carbon neutral as trees convert carbon dioxide to cellulose by photosynthesis. There is also switch grass and other fast growing crops.

$25? No KMart or similar stores?

All the Kmarts have closed and not in Walmart. I've only seen them in the auto parts store.

Somewhat related, I have a small mortgage on my summer place at 2.49%. I could pay it off, but the money that I would have to use to pay it off is earning more than 2.49%%, so I am leaving it be.

Yep. When I had my mortgage, keeping [more]
