An Interview with financialuproar

Last updated: 1/26/2017
The Fool:
What technology do you wish the world had but doesn't yet?
financialuproar:
Avoiding airplanes in favor of a Star Trek inspired transporter would be pretty nice, even if it did mean my cells get transformed each time it gets used. That's a perfectly acceptable trade-off for avoiding flying.
The Fool:
Tell us about your first date. Who was it with and where did you go? (Remember, this is a family show!) ;)
financialuproar:
I took her to a restaurant where I proceeded to order the messiest chicken wings ever. Surprisingly there was actually a second date.
The Fool:
What's the best product you use that most people don't know about?
financialuproar:
This time machine I invented. But I put it in a PT Cruiser because Deloreans are ugly.

How I Invest

I'm a value investor, meaning I'm looking for $1 in assets currently being valued at 50 cents. Many value investors cite Buffett as their hero, but I'm more attracted to Walter Schloss, who quietly killed the market for 50 years by buying broken, beaten down companies for pennies on the dollar. He diversified his bets, holding up to 100 different stocks at one time, with one holding never exceeding 10%. I look to do the same.
