Re: Here's what I did about Fastly

Fastly's last conference call had the shortest prepared remarks sections I have ever seen for a public company. I believe it was roughly 7 minutes, before they started taking questions. Something felt off about that, in addition to adding only 3 [more]

Re: On a scale of One to Ten

I believe Okta is more mission critical than other companies followed here such as DataDog or Zoom.

If the identity solution for an application is not working, the entire system is effectively down since nobody can login.

Re: Snowflake vs Zoom - a comparison

Nice comparisons especially on the leadership part. Founder led is definitely superior. Also I read that Slootman had to come out of retirement to be hired. From the S1 it showed he had the highest amount of shares at the company be valued at ~3 [more]

Re: Request for Saul's view of SNOW

I freed up some cash from other investments and did a lot of research on SNOW before they went public this week. Ended up passing on buying in as I do not see this company as vastly superior to other SaaS companies followed on this board. As pointed [more]

Great write up.

A couple other things I gathered from the S-1 is their land and expand strategy is much more aggressive than other companies.

Up until a few quarters ago they were spending more on sales and marketing than they were [more]

Re: SLack earnings

I ended up selling my position after having been holding since their IPO. Been a fan of their product for awhile, and I believe it's superior to Teams as well.

They should be doing extremely well in this environment. There was even a [more]

CRWD Q2 conference call notes

Overall impressions

The conference call really emphasized secure workloads over endpoint security solutions. It seems they want to change the narrative to being the best workload proctection solution on the market.

Re: Cloudflare conference call notes

I also am shocked by their capex/sales, ~20%. This is insanely high capex relative to other companies we follow - most spend less than 10% of sales on capex, and many spend 5% or less. Why is Cloudflare spending so much on property, plant, and [more]

Cloudflare conference call notes

Q2 20: 304 (+2.3%)

They mentioned this number includes a number of customers who dropped out of the category because they were in covid affected verticals. I would have also liked to see this growth be higher though.

Re: Don't we invest in hypergrowth here?

It seems like both companies have high revenue growth rates still. I am wondering if the merger is more about how they both saw each other encroaching on each other's product and saw no other way around.

Re: LVGO and TDOC Merger

Does anybody know what the tax implications are, especially for the cash portion of the deal?

Will that $11.33 per share be considered as selling?

I'm guessing the transition of the shares itself is a non-taxable event though?
