Apparently Republicans promised simplfied tax forms along with their tax cuts for the rich. IRS has been playing with a half page form but it will require many taxpayers to complete extra schedules to provide data previously reported on 1040. You can see what IRS is considering at the link below. It's not a pretty picture. IMO, much better to use the old 1040 with updates for the new law. Should be lucrative for tax preparers who charge by the form though.
