Happy New Year to all!

Anyone have any thoughts on how Qantas will fare in the medium to long term?

Problems no doubt will beset the share price due to Virgin and Singapore Airlines. They basically have to prove they CAN do it and compete internationally before any marked imporovement (IMO)....

With Virgin airlines looking to get involved with the domectic market in Australia , I beleive that Qantas shares will drop if Virgin are given rights to fly this year.
This will cause another price war in the domectic market.
If I know Qantas they will try another Company restructure to lift there post tax profit to counter any profit loss due to a price war with Virgin Domistic and Ansett Domecitc airlines.
Thay have just caned there Dividend Reinvestment Plan that thay held with the employees, this was just before the anouncement Virgin Air was looking the enter the Domestic Market.

G'day from a Down Under stuck up above in the US. (But only for 5 more years, not that I am counting)

A looooooong time ago when Qantas offered their stock initially to FFlyers I was too busy spending money on their tickets and never took them up on their offer. (banging my head against the wall for that)

After probably paying for the new Wanulla Dreaming 737 3 0r 4 times over with my hard earned money (oops that should read my husbands hard earned money!!) my husband has decided that since I spend so much money on going home I should at least invest in them. Can some one give me a heads up on how to go about it??

I gotta say this though there is nothing more heartwarming to see that big plane with the Roo on it when I get to LA on the way home!!!
