My mother just received some money from the sale of her home. She has about 10 -12 years before she needs the money. She is looking to invest conservatively and is concerned about paying annual capital gains taxes. She met with a financial planner who suggested three funds. Dreyfus Premier Worldwide, Hartford Director Choice & something called PACE from Paine Webber.

Has anyone heard of these? The early withdrawl fees are pretty steep (8% in year 1) in the Hartford fund. I'd welcome any suggestions.
