" One thing to keep in mind is that as you age, your doctor ages also.
Just as you reach the age where you might need more care, you might find your doctor retiring.
Having to get comfortable with a new one might be challenging.
Maybe consider getting a younger doctor and building a relationship some time before retirement.
Worth considering; but also realize:

When you retire, whether before or after Medicare age (65), you may want to or have to change health insurance plans, and your current doctor, regardless of his/her age, may not be in-network in your new plan. So you may have to change anyway. And this should be considered, not just for your primary care doctor, but also specialists whom you see regularly.
