"Also consider the fact that it costs about $13 to dry clean a suit and about $2 to launder and press a dress shirt. Laundering 22 shirt wearings a month costs $55 with tax."

Regarding dress shirts, if you wear a T-shirt underneath you'll find that you can wear dress shirts a few times before you need to have them cleaned. Lastly, do you really need to have them dry cleaned? If you invest in some plain cotton shirts, or even wrinkle-free shirts, that you can easily wash and iron yourself, you'd save yourself that $55/month and be able to put it towards those loans or the condo in Southern Calif. Remember...it's those regular expenses...the daily cup of coffee or $7.50 for lunch in the cafeteria every day...that add up the most over the years.
