"and I thought I did not have a life?"

Good morning tr, it's pretty sad isn't it! :)

You made me realize I better get out a bit more if this is where my priorities are! I'm going to go thru the obituaries today and cross out their names in the phone book. That's a start isn't it? :)

I collect turtles. I have never counted how many I have yet they fill two large glass display cabinets and range from a nine-pound amber to one you have to see with a magnifying glass. Okay, an estimate: maybe two hundred? And I don't think it an obsession but a search for turtleosity. Some have it (I buy them) and some don't (and I don't buy them).

Get a life is a stupid statement. Life is baseball cards, stamps, macramé, recipes, quilting, all sorts of stuff that have no consequence but for the doing that, in the doing, gives a personal satisfaction.

Okay, agreed, maybe trying to find when Bogey is going to announce The Feste Award winner is, to some, picayune as compared to other matters yet isn't closure also a personal satisfaction?

Besides, in collecting something and accumulating a stack of whatever has a satisfaction of starting early while those following start later. Mrseabreeze has a collection of posts on asking that supersede any other. That's a start.

But back to turtles. They are an inspiration: 'No one gets ahead unless they stick their neck out', and a ferocity: 'Never, never, never bet against a turtle'.

And never bet against a person who reads the obits and then strikes out names in the phone book.
