Quoted: Fifty-five percent of small business owners and manufacturers would not have started their businesses in today’s economy, according to a new poll that also reports 69 percent say President Obama’s regulatory policies have hurt their businesses.

Being close to the mortgage industry as I am, I can confirm this is absolutely true in the mortgage industry.

Since 2009, no new mortgage companies have been launched. With the ongoing implementation of the Dodd-Frank Act, not even 1/3 rolled out, one would be an idiot to start a wholesale or retail mortgage company.

This fact is a constant topic on mortgage industry discussion boards I frequent.
