I had an account with Interactive Brokers and they did not include commissions on the 1099 transactions. It was a PITA, and one of the reasons why I dumped them. When I filled out my 2000 1040 I added the commission to the buy side, and since I'll have one more 1099 from them I expect to do it the same way this year.
