"If the mind existed separately from the brain, then a person who was drunk or unconscious would remember everything afterward because the mind would still have been functioning perfectly." - feedmenowhuman

The soul or consciousness doesn't leave the body just because you are drunk. It takes a really good whack to make the soul jump ship. Your heart has to stop and your brain has to flat line, meaning no EKG. Your consciousness is embedded in your body. But when your body dies, and is kaput, your soul will release whatever is holding it in and leave your body merge back into whatever dimension it is that the original holographic film that we call heaven exists in.

What does the soul do that the brain does not?
