MI screen picks as a rule get *killed* in corrections. Even the stalwart YEY does not hold up well. (Every rule has exceptions. But we're playing the odds here.)

If you look at a longer term view then getting "killed" in corrections don't matter. A graph indicates YEY 1-10 screen did just slightly better than S&P 86-2000 when the s&P had fairly good growth. Then from 2000-2012 the s&p had little or no growth but the YEY screen continued to grow at a good rate in spite of the 2008 dip. Seems also true for many popular MI screens. So we could say that staying in MI if the market is not tanking is okay or even preferred.
