Its 2/26/01--time to talk about Hemingway. If you are interested, please join in; no post is a stupid post--we all can learn from each other.

Here are some initial discussion questions that I (very quickly) came up with. Comment on any, all, or none of them.

Would you consider this more a collection of stories, or a novel?
I say a novel. If you agree, what makes it like a novel?
How is it held together?
What is it (as a whole) about?
What are your thoughts on Hemingway's writing style. Does he accomplish anything with it?

What is the deal with the interchapters?
What purpose do they serve?
Is there a thematic (or any sort of) connection between them.

Indian Camp (first story):
Who is the baby's Father?

I started with thoughts on the book overall and the first story. However, feel free to comment on any part of the book or any story.
