"It is entirely about parental responsibility. It is the only concept of importance in this discussion. Parental responsibility is a whole unit. If a parent is not responsible for medical decisions, then the parent should not be responsible for anything to do with the child. Not food, clothing, shelter, education, etc."

That this occurs should be no surprise. Many parents already abdicate their responsibilities in so many ways. Discipline? I don't need to worry about that because the schools will. Feeding my children breakfast and lunch? The Feds will give the schools money so why should I worry about it. Nurture my child? Hey I have the "village" to do that for me.
