Well, first you have to start with the pyramids of Egypt. Over one million stone blocks, most weighing TONS, some 10 and 20 tons.....with overall height of 481 feet...built 3000 years ago......

Then you have the cathedrals of Europe......the tallest Ulm Minster at 531 feet...nearly all stone......many built about the same time as Notre Dame.
