Someone please tell me that this book will come together in the end and I will be satisfied after slogging through it! I started reading Umberto Eco's "The Island of the Day Before" more than a year ago. I set it aside for so long, I had to go back and re-read the beginning. I'm now on page 195 and while I have experienced some engrossment, I find myself wondering if it will last.

I read Eco's "Foucault's Pendulum" years ago and did enjoy it. It was not an easy read either, but the story's mysterious interconnectedness compelled me to continue reading.

I'm looking for assurance that reading this book is time well spent.....
