"The source of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's (D-NV) infamous claim during the 2012 presidential campaign that Mitt Romney had not paid any taxes in 10 years was Jon Huntsman Sr., the father of fellow GOP rival Jon Huntsman, according to a new book by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann called "Double Down.""

Huntsman is to blame for spreading a falsehood.

But so is Reid.

I mean... that's a serious charge.... that a presidential candidate hadn't paid taxes in ten years.

Most of us here have had occasion to sling untruths around without vetting them.

But for the Majority leader of the Senate to do so, to a national audience, without verifying the facts.... that's inexcusable. As much as Huntsman's charge.
