"There is an important difference. The NJ law requires a judge make an order on an individual case basis, based on evidence of nutjobbery. I think this is a good and reasonable law so long as the accused has an opportunity within a very short period of time to present a defense and if sucessful can get his guns back."

I'm sure some liberal left wing judge will more than give search warrants for anyone 'suspected' of having high capacity magazines, or having bought one on line, or having posted a picture of one in the last 10 years on social media.......

"That is quite different than a mass house to house warrantless search which would be a clear violation of the fourth amendment."

If you have a handgun, a conceal carry permit, some judge will give the government the 'right' to inspect them and search for any illegal items like bump stocks and 'large magazines'.

You'll be declared 'mentally unfit' if you don't follow the law. Or have violated it int he past by buying one on line....

Boulder CO is about to do the same for folks 'failing to register' their semi-automatic weapons...... you "register them", or you are a felon starting this week. A year from now, they'll confiscate them.
