"These key suburban populations are mostly white but increasingly diverse, highly educated and relatively affluent. They aren’t scared by immigration; they support it in their own communities—especially with highly skilled immigrants, attracted to work at businesses lured to these suburbs, in many cases, by business-minded Republican politicians"
-------------------------------------------

All of that is true, but there are a whole lot of GQP/Evangelical's who publicly proclaim the
urgent need to stop all immigration not from Nordic countries, while privately hiring all of the
brown skin illegals into their meatpacking plants, landscaping crews, construction sites,
and home remodels. The last thing these hypocrites want is to cut off the flow of cheap, easily
exploitable undocumented labor.

Actions tell a much truer story than words.
Parts of the GQP remind me of the KKK from the 1950's and '60's. These pol's are telling
the GQP base exactly what they want to hear, and they'll able to use their dog whistle words to get elected. But if they start hurting the pocketbooks of Republican businessmen with their words and clumsy efforts, their words might continue, but their actions will quickly stop.
