I am responding to a post written a while back. I did respond at the time

but I had a Fool moderator(?) pull the post. They thought I should post it

after doing a re-write I was happy with.

I do not mean to downplay anyone's loss of a pet. That said, I'll share a bit

of my life experience...

I have lost a number of cats and a few dogs along the way.

For my last two cats, one passed at 18 1/2 and the other made it to 21.

They had long lives.

Losing a pet can no doubt be painful, especially missing their companionship as a friend.

It was written, "Never lost a child, but it can feel that way."

Lost my youngest son when he was 13. That was 43+ years ago.

I "should" be celebrating his 57th birthday tomorrow...

There is for me, no comparison...

Regards, Ken
