"Would you please explain how this policy is any different than paying more for gas this month than last month..."
If American Express had advertised its commission schedule as an "introductory offer", then fine, not such a bad deal. But they wouldn't have gotten as many customers to go through the hassle of transferring their accounts for a few months of free trades. American Express, at the very least, gives the appearance that they misled people in order to generate more business. Not a crime, but I don't feel that I can trust them.
