"You are allowed to drive with a gun in the car?"

Most parts of the country are civilized, unlike NJ, CA, and other leftist enclaves.

In Louisiana, one’s vehicle is considered an extension of one’s home and one is allowed to have a loaded firearm in it while driving it. There are, of course, limits on what you and/or passengers in one’s vehicle can do with firearms in the vehicle. Besides that, I have a concealed handgun permit, which allows me to carry a firearm, concealed, on my person when I am out of my vehicle <also with limits on where, etc. >.

We had an excellent instructor this time for retraining for my C.H.P., a retired marine and security expert who explained the law(s) and changes to the law(s) in the last five years.

C.J.V. - well worth the cost if it keeps us out of major trouble if we have to use our firearms, IM(no so)HO
