Your memory is the same as mine. Here in South-eastern VA, this has been the wettest post-4th of July summer I've ever seen.

Usually, the primary pastures where I board my horse become dust bowls July-Sep. This year they stayed not lush, but certainly grassy. Even when it hasn't rained, the humidity has prevented the morning dew from fully drying off until late afternoon. Both my vet & farrier have commented on how many horses have developed hoof problems from their feet never having a chance to fully dry. Kinda like your socks always being damp.
