About Mac Tech Support: It makes me tear my hair out. It drives me up the wall. It really does. It's a good thing the iMac never breaks because if it did I'd have to deal with the nutty techies that cost too much and take too long to track someone down who knows what I'm talking about.

That said, my last encouter with Apple Tech Support was nice and peaceful. My not-quite year old iBook's hard drive coughed and died about a two months ago. After tracking down the receipt (which I still had), I called tech support. I started off with a very knowledgeable man who worked with me to find out what the problem with my iBook was up and including holding the phone to the iBook so he could hear the noises it was making.
The upshot of all this was they couldn't fix the problem over the phone. They sent a postage paid-box, I shipped it off Monday or Tuesday and got it back before the weekend and, since it was under warranty. It didn't cost me a penny. What a relief.

It is because Apple Tech Support worked right for once that I am sitting here typing this message. So, for every bad Tech Support story there is at least one good story.

What we all have to realize is this, Apple is a machine when you get right down to it and machines break. Fortunately for us, the Apple Faithful, our machines do not break down as often.

As for the Apple Faithful, you reading a message from one. I've been using Apple's since 1985.

I will never use a Window's product willingly because I don't have the patience for it. As I told a friend once (who uses and adores Windows) 'Windows makes me want to throw it OUT the window.'

Okay, slightly off topic at the end.
