Not to sound too much like a shill, or someone who got one of those "you're here free for a year" notes, but . . .

Here's a company, The Motley Fool, that's laid off something like 2/3 or 3/4 of its staff in the past year or so -- is it that difficult to see what's going on here? They can't provide this service at a loss to themselves, and they probably should have gone to a subscription model a long time ago. I suspect that there's a choice to be made here as to whether there's going to be a Motley Fool at all, and to a great extent it'll depend on how many people subscribe.

How can anyone possibly kvetch about 4 cents a day? Even 8 cents a day? I think this board, by itself, provides 8 cents worth of value, or amusement, per day -- not to mention the remainder of the site.

So I hope you'll all stay. Determine the NPV of what you're getting, and risk the big $30.
