REALLY??? How would we know the difference? According to the book by E.G. Smith Collective, "Animal Ingredients A to Z" it is listed as an animal ingredient. A by-product of the slaughterhouse. It is also listed as a "possible animal ingredient".

So I guess we have to contact the company using it to determine its origin. If you feel comfortable accepting their reply.
