I noticed yesterday (the first day I received a "rec quota" notice) that once I had used my available recs up, I stopped reading posts for the day because I didn't want to risk coming across a great one and not being able to rec it. I don't submit "Me, too" or "What (s)he said" posts because I feel the rec button is a more efficient way of expressing agreement/delight/admiration/etc. (No offense intended to those who do submit "Me, too/What (s)he said" posts.)

I did not have any objection to the idea of rec limits before I was actually faced with them. Much to my surprise, I felt muzzled.

I just thought TMF might like to be aware that my unpremeditated reaction was to stop reading -- which cannot have been their intention. I hope they will give this matter further thought.

Did anyone else experience this reaction?
