I chose to start a new thread with this comment rather than adding to the multiple-post thread which has recently been going and causing some amount of turmoil to this otherwise quiet island in the midst of TMF's boards.

I've been mostly lurking on TMF's boards since around 1999 (was here before they started charging, dropped out for a while after they started charging, then came back with a new id).

In all this time, the board which I considered to be my "home", the one I always checked for new messages first, has been the HWTSC board. I have given some help at times, but realize my level of expertise, such as it is, does not begin to come up to many others who either post here now, or previously posted here. I'm happy when a question is asked that I may be able to help with, and over the years of lurking have learned much simply by seeing the questions asked by others and answered.

While this is my top favorite board, I also check in on some of the other boards, and in so doing have many times thought to myself what a nice polite board this particular one is. Folks ask questions, answers are given politely and respectfully. There just wasn't any of the sniping seen on some other boards. I don't recall ever having seen anyone belittled for what they did or did not know, just help given.

My hope now, for what it's worth, is that the board could return to its previous calm and polite status and back to helping out with computer issues; to further that end I plan to hit that frowny-face up there and simply ignore the rantings of anyone who appears to show up merely to stir up trouble. I do believe if "stirrers" aren't responded to they will eventually tire of not getting responses and hopefully go away.
