I got this recipe a while back from the vegsource board. . . .

Mix 1/3 cup flour with 1 cup water in a small saucepan. Cook until thick, then let cool.

Melt 1/2 cup margarine. Add 2/3 cup cocoa. Stir until smooth. Let cool.

Beat 2 cups sugar, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon vanilla into cooled flour mixture. Then add cocoa mixture.

Mix together 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour and 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder. Add to gooey brown mixture you just created. Stir in 1/2 cup chopped nuts if you like them.

Bake in an oiled 9" x 13" pan at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes. Do not overcook or they will be rock-like!
