Rent due is tangential.

I imagine if you don't pay it, it won't be so tangential.

I pay it, but it bears no weight in whether or not Collision and/or Comprehensive coverages are worth carrying. If you're paying $311.08/year for $500 deductible Comp & Collision coverages on a $5,000 vehicle, the advantage in carrying physical damage coverage is getting pretty iffy, depending on where you live and exposure to high accident frequency and crime rates... Those are relevant matters. Rent you may or may not pay isn't.
