The timing of the release of this video is suspect..

The nutter Netanyahu is 'cross', more like 'spitting blood', because Obama is refusing to bow to the demands of what he sees as his position of superiority.

Obama can't fit in time for a meeting with Netanyahu, a politically correct version of 'go f**k yourself'.

Netanyahu is out of step with just about every international institution on how to deal with Ian.
Most Western political institutions are out of step with their own public on Iran, fearful of the power of the Zionist to make or break them. Think Murdoch and British politicians.

With an election due American presidential runners have to be careful of how they treat Israel.
How on earth did we allow Israel to obtain such an influential position in our lives?

Anyhow, just after Obama's snub for Netanyahu this video is released. To think it wouldn't cause trouble in already troubled waters would be naive in the extreme.

Risible Romney, quick to jump on a bandwagon without wheels, calls the governments response 'disgraceful'.
One has to wonder if this man has any knowledge at all of the world beyond American shores. He never was President material and never should become President.

San Bacile, an Israeli living in California, an extreme anti-Islamist, appears to me to have picked an opportune moment to release this video in an effort to create problems for Obama and attempt to conjure up support for the 'Risible Romney'.

Here's a thought. If this video hadn't been released at this time the diplomat would still be alive.

I suppose like most Israeli's he sees Americans as expendable disposable tools, there to be used.

Ya, because it is his fault that religious extremists murder innocent people when they feel offended.

We let loose the rabid dog in Libya when we decided to get rid of the poodle.

Now we are trying to repeat the error of our ways in Syria.

Mystery surrounds 'Sam Bacile', maker of controversial anti-Muhammad film

The maker of the anti-Muhammad film that sparked mayhem in Egypt and protest in Libya has gone into hiding, leaving questions over his identity.

He has been widely named as Sam Bacile – with his age varying from 52 to 56 – but conflicting reports suggested that Bacile was a pseudonym for a California-based anti-Muslim zealot who appeared to have intentionally stoked fury in the Arab world.

The Associated Press, which interviewed him over the phone from an undisclosed location, described him as "a California real estate developer who identifies himself as an Israeli Jew". However, the California Association of Realtors told the Guardian he was not a member and appears not to have a real estate licence. He does not appear on the state's Department of Real Estate's database.

"A lot of things don't add up here about the claimed identity of the filmmaker," wrote Sarah Posner, an editor at Religion Dispatches.

If this man is nothing more than a political mischief maker, he has some deathly events to answer for.

It is his fault if he was trying to stir up protests against US on the streets of Islamic countries.... I see no other reason to produce such trash and then put it on the internet then translate it into Egyptian arabic.

At this point, we don't know the truth. His claim was that he did not perform a translation to arabic (per NPR).

Regardless, he is no more to blame for the deaths than we would blame the feces Christ artist in New York if some backwater religious hick in KY decided to bomb the University of Louisville Art Department because he felt offended.

Innocence of Muslims” -- the crude and provocative anti-Islam film blamed for a wave of deadly violence against U.S. diplomatic outposts -- was promoted by a small band of Christian extremists, according to reports, but the true identity of its director remained unclear.

A trailer for the amateurish film, posted on YouTube in July and later reposted after being translated into Arabic, portrays Muhammad, believed by Muslims to be God’s prophet, as a womanizer, a homosexual and a child abuser. A man who said his name was "Sam Bacile" claimed to have made the film in an interview on Tuesday.

The translated clip, shown repeatedly on Egyptian television stations in recent weeks, sparked protests across the Middle East and North Africa and was blamed for inciting an attack in Libya on Tuesday that killed the U.S. Ambassador, Chris Stevens, and three other Americans.

Right, we don't know the truth.
The translation is neither here nor there, Muslims language knowledge is not limited to Arabic.

Who the producer is and the timing of the release is what attracts ulterior motive suspicions.

Whomever he is and whatever his motives, he has a lot to answer for.

The distrust and grass roots hatred for America was allowed to manifest itself when Bush and the Neo-con mob decided to remove Saddam.
The Bush/Blair legacy is still playing itself out, with a long way to go.
The Palestinians plight is a thorn in America's paw, Israeli policies and American support for those policies ensure the festering paw can't be healed. Lip service objections carry no weight.

The black democrat President, Obama, seems to me to have gone some way to righting some of the wrongs, but, given the hand he was dealt when taking office he would have to be a God to do much more than he has up until this time.

One little video release timed to perfection can undo so much of that good.

Tony

That is because he is not a hunter... he shoots first and aims later....

Fanatical muslims rioting on 9/11.

Gee - who'da thunk it.

Howie52
And no special precautions at the embassies in those uncivilized lands?

Blame?
Other than the "shame on us" for allowing our embassies to be undefended
on the anniversary - as always is on the rioters.
Murderers - and their supporters.

Apparantly he was in an compromised 'safe house'.

There is also an element of ironic justice - disguised in the preferred term 'blowback' - in the demise of Stevens, his hands aren't clean when it comes to recent events that destroyed Libya.

When, in the aftermath of the popular revolts in Tunisia and Egypt, Washington decided to seize upon demonstrations in Libya and promote a war for “regime change” as a means of bolstering its position in the region, Stevens was the man selected to become US envoy to the so-called rebels organized in the Benghazi-based National Transitional Council (NTC).

At the time, the State Department refused to make public his official biography. Photographs of him were also unavailable. Businessweek was one of the few publications to carry a profile of Washington’s “man in Benghazi.” It noted his previous research on social unrest in eastern Libya and quoted a former State Department colleague as saying that Stevens was “already familiar with some opposition members from his posting in Tripoli.”

This raises the obvious question as to what role Stevens and the US had in fomenting the armed conflict in Libya from its outset. Whatever the case, what was promoted to the public as a crusade for human rights and to save the lives of Libyan civilians was in reality a war of imperialist plunder whose main objectives were to establish hegemonic control over the North African country’s oil wealth at the expense particularly of Russia and China.

Once in Benghazi, beginning in April 2011, Stevens’ role was to coordinate funding, weapons and training for the “rebels,” while ensuring that the collection of exiles, ex-Gaddafi functionaries and Islamists in the NTC toed America’s line.

A central problem in this venture was, in the absence of a genuine mass revolutionary uprising, the organization of a fighting force able to follow up the murderous aerial bombardment by the US and its allies. The opportunistic solution was the utilization of forces tied to the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group and Al Qaeda in the Maghreb, who had both experience and motivation as fighters.

http://www.wsws.org/articles/2012/sep2012/quie-s14.shtml

The article quotes Hilllary Clinton:

The war in Libya ended in October 2011 with the barbaric lynch-mob murder of Gaddafi. At the time, Secretary of State Clinton gloated over the former Libyan leader’s fate, laughingly declaring, “We came, we saw, he died.”

Speaking in the aftermath of Stevens’ killing Wednesday, Clinton declared, “How could this happen in a country we helped liberate in a city we helped save from destruction?” If the Secretary of State doesn’t know the answer to this question, she should have her head examined.

The same elements that she was lauding as “heroes” when they were sodomizing and lynching Gaddafi are the “savages” she and Obama now say must be “brought to justice.” No doubt, their desire to murder the ambassador was fueled by the conviction that the so-called “revolution” has brought them—not to mention the Libyan people—nothing.

That she asks the question beggars the question. Is she too stupid to be in the position of office she holds?

Although a warning shouldn't have been necessary for extra precautions to be taken, when given you would think somebody's ears would have pricked up:

Libya’s deputy interior minister, Wanis al-Sharif, tried to pin the blame on supporters of Gaddafi, but also suggested that the Americans were responsible for their own fate for not heeding previous warnings of attacks by Al-Qaeda. “It was necessary that they take precautions,” he told AFP. “It was their fault that they did not take the necessary precautions.”

The New York Times Wednesday cited U.S. officials as suggesting that the death of Stevens was not merely the accidental byproduct of spontaneous protest. “Indications suggest the possibility that an organized group had either been waiting for an opportunity to exploit like the protests over the video or perhaps even generated the protests as a cover for their attack,” the Times reported.

As many as 80 militiamen, armed with assault rifles, rocket-propelled grenades, mortars and 14.5mm anti-aircraft machine guns took part in the assault, a Libyan reporter told the BBC.

Michael Scheuer:

I'd never heard of him. Ex CIA, 20 years service.

He was interviewed on the BBC's pm programme Fiday evening with some interesting things to say, not the least of them being the feact that America hasn't won a war since 1945.
To which I might add, that war too could have been lost if Hitler hadn't opened the Northern Front.

Interview starts 11 minutes in and lasts 5 minutes:

Where does the blame lay, Sam Bacile or the group he represents lit the fuse that set of the powder keg we created.
Beyond that is American failed imperialistic ambitions with a total disregard for the innocent civilian and military lives lost,

Re-calculate, do a U turn if possible!!

You recognise these people are irrational, in doing so you should recognise they have to be handled with care until things settle down a bit in the ME.

al-Qaeda??

I'm beginning to wonder if they are not still in our box and always have been.
A surrogate to initiate problems where none existed, enabling us to cry foul and rearrange the political hierarchy to our taste.

That's just me wondering, same as I still wonder if OBL was really killed, the whole episode could have been written by Sam Peckinpah.
