An interesting question came up. Is it better to be fired or to retire, assuming you plan to retire (i.e. not get another job)? If you are fired I think you're eligible for unemployment, where if you retire you are not. In my case, they don't even do gold watches for retirement. Just an exit interview, and maybe a retirement lunch.I hadn't ever really thought about it before, but from a financial perspective it seems getting fired is preferable if you're going to retire anyway.Thoughts?1poorguy
