I just read the asset allocation article and was looking at my own situation where I am using a real estate contract (I loaned money on a property I sold) to support a major part of my retirement. Would you consider that part of the cash allocation? The contract balloons in 6 years and has a 2 year no repayment clause. I am trying to get a better idea of how much cash/CD's to hold. I am 50. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
