OleLab passed away about 6 AM Thursday morning. He died peacefully in his sleep on the bed next to me. He will be sorely missed. We spent 15 years together in almost constant companionship. We grew old together. It leaves a big hole in my heart.

It has be coming for many months: He was having increasing difficulties walking. Our walks shortened from going to the park and making the loop around it to just going to the park and back. Then, it shortened to just going to the corner, halfway to the park. Then, it shortened to just walking halfway to the corner... And so on.

Even in his dying hours, he remained as handsome as ever:

That photo was taken just 30 hrs before he died. His coat was so soft and shiny - I gave him a bath on Tues so that he could go the Rainbow Bridge with a clean coat (and not smelling like urine from his leaking).

He was the best bud ever!
