Hi,

Just a quick question, as my employer just changed our 401k plan to allow a Roth 401k (named after Sen Roth of Delaware). I currently contribute to the 401k and am thinking of changing this to the Roth 401k.

Presumably this has no impact on my ability to also fund my Roth IRA fully ($6500 with the catchup provision)?

thanks for the guidance,

JimA

R0TH 401K contribution limits are separate from ROTH IRA contribution limits.

The only time this matters is if your income is in the phase out range. Pre-tax 401K limits lower your income, and might allow for a large ROTH IRA contribution.

Thanks,

and I only wish that I had AGI problems with regards to Roth contributions. <grin>
