Hello, has anyone had any experience with the Rydex/Nova fund combination, where one is used when the market is going up and the other is used when the market is going down.It sounds like a good idea, but does it really beat the market?
The Rydex Ursa/Nova method will beat the market by almost exactly (-0.7 / 1.5 ) times the S&P 500 performance. The question is : Can YOU guess when to switch from one to the other (taking into account buying mid-day, etc...) ?I know I can't... and I dislike the URSA fund on it's un-American bet AGAINST the market.Good luck trying to ride the see-saw... but it seems more like Las Vegas to me ...
Recent issues of Kiplingers have rated Rydex funds at the top in many categories. Seems like I recall that the minimum investment in those funds was rather steep though. Could be wrong about that. Try yahoo, they provide good data on mutual funds for comparison purposes.rickisme
