If Democrats keep fighting the election as if it has anything to do with an election that took place 48 years ago, they will lose. You realize that many of the voters who cast ballots 48 years ago are not voting again, right? That many of those voting in 2020 were not even born in 1972?
That the Vietnam war is not one of the major issues being faced by the US today? That Trump's campaign of 2016 pretty much trashed the traditional rule book for Presidential campaigns?

How boring!

McGovern was the great liberal hope in 1972 -- Dems thought he'd win BIG. He carried one state, Massachusetts. That's the possible/probable connection between McGovern and Sanders.
