Sandy, your exact words were "Christians should not hold political power." You did not limit your remarks to people who want to take over school systems and teach students to value faith and authority over reason. For some reason, you keep equating the two, as though all Christians want to turn America's public schools into religious indoctrination centers.

Activist Christians should not hold political power. If people would just practice their faith in private, I would have no problem voting for the individual. I wouldn't even know what they believe. It is when they broadcast their faith by waving the bloody flag as a part of the campaign that I defer to a more reasonable choice.

I see many kinds of danger lurking about. Power-grabbing in the name of religion is one. Wanting to exclude people of a particular faith from public office is another.

As long as we have the power grabbing, I see nothing wrong with attempting to exclude those who wear their faith on their sleeves. Didn't Jesus condemn the Pharasee for praying in a public, showy manner?
