1.Not only get rid of Goodwin. Replace all of top management associated with his administration at UAL. There are at least 100,000 people out there willing to work or make their positions more productive at half the salaries they aquired.
2.Settle with the unions as soon as possible. Once done we can get on with the business of running an airline not only to satify and compliment the flying public and industry. At this stage of the game now-no one is happy and that is only passed on to the passengers flying United and the public perception of UAL.
3.Put the Biz Jet venture on indefinite hold. Divert resources in getting back the business companies and travellers that we lost back and aggresively pursue new companies.
4. Restructure equipment routings. Put the 747's on ice or storage and put more study of routes that are more cost efficient with smaller types of equipment with the remaining equipment we have.
5. Form an alliance with Southwest to replace the now defunct Shuttle By United.
