Scott, the way you describe him is the way the dem party used to be. I would vote for a dem like Hackett.

What happened to the dem party being for the average joe -- the moderate, middle income worker? Both my wife's family and my mother's family were either entirely dems or largely dems all their lives but they can't find much, if anyone, to support on a national scale any more. They have not switched parties, they simply have stopped voting and supporting dems.
