at my work place we have had a quite satisfactory 401k annuity plan with an insurance firm. Now a full service brokerage has approached The Wise and Learned and offered to do us a big favor and change this plan to a mutual fund set up to save us lots of money and trouble.
my question: I need to educate myself real fast about annuities, seen and unseen charges on annuities as well as the same info for this plan the brokerage house is offering--- all without much guidance from my workplace. I keep smelling aged fish. I thought my first stop might be Edelman's 2 most recent tomes. I would appreciate any good reference sources from you folks.
