Setting goals is easy. Anyone can set goals. The problem is in doing what is necessary to actually meet those goals. DrBob recently reminded the Climate Change TMF board that Sweden set a national goal in 2006 to completely stop burning oil and all fossil fuels. How are they doing? Not very well.

And then there's Tuvalu.

Wiki tells us that
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renewable_energy_in_Tuvalu
Tuvalu has committed to becoming the first country to get 100% of its electricity from renewable energy sources by 2020.

That was in 2012. Two years to go.

Percent of population with electricity 45%
Electricity from fossil fuels 96%

Dependence on jet fuel and marine bunker fuel? Don't ask.
