I have a hard time following his jargon, so I will have to spend some time sorting through all that.

For me the main reason to like BofI is the lack of a brick and mortar function, and customer service. Their higher interest rates are attractive to small businesses who can't get the same from traditional local banks with store fronts. This is made possible by much lower overhead.

There is no reason why others cannot compete, but they won't be large established organizations with a lot of overhead.

This is not a zero sum game, competitors can arise and BofI is still successful.

I may not buy more, but I am certainly going to hold. I have no interest in short activity. It simply has no bearing on my thinking. Short sellers imagine different things are important than I do.
