My wife is currently on short term disability due to an operation for a brain tumor. She is scheduled to return to work in two weeks. What happens if, after returning to work, she realizes she is still not well enough to perform the job? Can she go back onto short term disability? Will she have to open a new claim or would she be able to use the old claim? She is currently collecting under her boss's policy. She lives in NJ and her boss owns a small company of 10 employees.
