Should Capital Expenditures be recorded in negative numbers if they are denoted as such in a company's financial data?

All cash inflows are always shown as positive figures and outflows are always negative figures on the Cash Flow Statement. However, because people tend to avoid using double negatives, Cap Ex is usually expressed as a positive figure everywhere execpt the Cash Flow Statement. Just keep in mind that Free Cash Flow is Net Cash from Ops less Cap Ex.
