Have a workbook w/ one sheet. Somehow sheet has gotten shrunk. It looks okay and works okay but is just smaller than normal. There is a gray background around the sheet. Scroll bars work ok. I can't expand it by dragging left, right, up and down margins. Also cannot move sheet around by clicking and holding top of sheet.

This is in Excel 2003. Any ideas? I've tried everything I know. Thanks for any help.

Charlie Brown.

Hi chasb,

Go into the "View" menu and change the percentage.

Thank you Gene. That changes the magnification of the sheet contents but the sheet itself remains the same size. I need a way of 'zooming' the entire sheet. Any ideas?

Hi chasb,

Seems to me there is also a "type" of view like "printed page" or something to that affect.

Look at the other settings.

Options under view:
Normal
Page Break Preview
Task Pane
Toolbars
Formula Bar
Status Bars
Header and Footer...
Custom Views...
Comments
Full Screen
Zoom...

I tried the Zoom after your last message. None of these options fix the problem.

Other ideas? Thanks.

Thanks for hanging with me. Normal has no affect. As I said, I've tried all the options under View and none help.

If all of the prior suggestions did not work, check and see what your font size is set at? Is it possible that you somehow reduced the font size inadvertently?

Outside of that, if you can share a screen shot or something it might help others better understand exactly what the problem is and offer a suggestion. It could also be that the size of the rows and columns were adjusted but I am not sure that I am understanding exactly what the issue is as normally the suggestions already offered increase the size of everything.

Font size has nothing to do with this problem. The entire sheet is shrunk. Sort of like clicking the Restore Down button but only for the sheet. The page looks fine. The Excel toolbars are fine. The problem is with the sheet only.

Don't have a way of easily sharing the page. If anyone wants to share their email address with me, I'll be happy to email you a screen shot.

Hi chasb,

The window is set to be a sub-window, like you would have 3 sheets laid-out in the main window.

There should be a control on the sub-window (upper right corner) or on the main window to control the windows in the container.

Look for something similar to the Minimize/Maximize control.

Does that help you?

Upper right corner of the sheet, there should be a dash, box, and X. Click the box.

These same icons appear in a normal workbook twice, the top set impact the workbook as a whole and the bottom set, where there are two offset boxes, impacts the sheets within the workbook.

I give up. This sheet didn't contain that much data, no formulas or macros. So I just created a new workbook.
