Sidenote: What/when is the US auction (don't even want to know what all THESE licenses will bring). The auctions for spectrum in the US have been delayed again, until March 2001 I believe. These blocks are in the 700MHz reason and would be highly desirable if it weren't for the fact that some television stations use that space to broadcast, and there's no FCC mandate to have them vacate the space (until 2006 I think). This is probably the main reason why the auction was delayed; it would have been a lose-lose situation. The wireless companies would get spectrum that has possibilities of interference (try selling that service to consumers!) and the FCC would receive much less $$$ because the wireless companies won't fork out billions for occupied space. If the FCC can find a way to clear this spectrum, it would be highly valued. It's an interesting situation...and kind of a mess.Dave
