The "Avenue of the Giants", all those Redwood trees. Just north of Weott take a side trip (only a couple of miles) up Bull Creek through the Rockefeller Forest in Humbolt Redwoods State Park. Fantastic! Further up this road is Albee Creek Campground. It's summer so it might be full on weekends. Patrick's Point State Park north of Eureka is a great place to camp on the coast, but once again, summer crowds. I think the State Park system takes reservations. North of that Prarie Creek State Park, for another nice campground, and a hike down Fern Canyon.
